Balance!
Privacy policy

About this policy
Square M Studio operates Balance!, a physics puzzle game for iOS and Android. This policy describes information handled by the game, our analytics service, and advertising providers. No account is required to play.
Game progress on your device
Your level progress, stars, coins, unlocked skins, selected theme, and sound settings are saved on your device. These saves are not a cloud account and do not sync between devices. Your operating system may include local app data in its backups. Removing the app or clearing its data may erase progress.
Gameplay analytics
Production versions send pseudonymous usage events to our analytics service hosted by Railway. Events include a random installation identifier, session and event identifiers, timestamps, operating system and version, app version, Android device model, screens visited, play-session duration, level attempts and results, stars, in-game coins and skins, power use, sound settings, and rewarded-ad interactions, whether a request allows personalized ads, and revenue when available. The installation identifier lets us connect events from the same installation; these events are not anonymous. We use them to understand gameplay, difficulty, reliability, retention, and advertising performance. Usage analytics is enabled in production builds and currently has no in-game opt-out switch.
Information we do not request
Our gameplay analytics does not request your name, email address, contacts, precise location, microphone recordings, IDFA, or Android advertising identifier. We do not require a social login. If you contact support, we receive the email address and information you choose to send.
Rewarded advertising
Balance uses Google AdMob for optional rewarded ads. You choose whether to watch an ad; the reward shown before the ad (such as coins or undoing your last drop) is granted only after the ad reports that it was earned. Depending on the app version, your region, and recorded consent choices, requests may allow personalized ads. In regions covered by Google’s European consent flow, the current game allows personalized requests only when the relevant storage and personalization purposes are granted; otherwise it requests non-personalized ads. Outside those regions, requests may allow personalization. A request that allows personalization does not guarantee that Google serves a personalized ad. This does not mean that no data is processed: Google may process IP addresses (including approximate location), app- or device-related identifiers, ad views and interactions, and diagnostic and performance information for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and analytics. On iOS this release does not request permission to access the advertising identifier (IDFA). Google's processing is also described in its own privacy policy.
Ad privacy choices
Where required, Google's consent form appears before ads are initialized. You can revisit available choices using the Privacy choices button on the main menu when Google reports that this option is required. You can decline optional consent choices. Ads may be limited or unavailable depending on your choices, location, connectivity, and ad availability. Ad consent settings do not switch off our separate gameplay analytics.
Service providers and network data
We use Railway to host our analytics service and Google to provide advertising and consent services. Network requests necessarily expose an IP address to the receiving service. Our analytics endpoint uses a hashed network address in memory for rate limiting and does not store raw IP addresses with gameplay events. Hosting providers may process operational network logs. Service providers may process information outside your country. We do not sell our gameplay analytics database or send its installation identifier to Google for ad targeting. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the service and its users.
Retention
Local gameplay saves remain until removed from the device. The app keeps a bounded queue of up to 500 unsent analytics events; events older than 30 days are removed when the queue is initialized. Server-side analytics currently has no automatic expiry and is retained for ongoing product analysis until removed by us. Support correspondence is kept as needed to address your request. Google and hosting providers apply their own retention practices.
Access and deletion requests
Contact hello@cmm.fyi to ask about your data, request access or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Include the Analytics installation ID shown in the game's Settings if your request concerns gameplay analytics. We may need information to verify the request. Without that identifier, we may be unable to distinguish your pseudonymous events from another player's. Deleting the app removes local data but does not automatically delete information already received by our service or advertising providers. Rights and available remedies vary by location.
Children
Balance is a general-audience game and is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has supplied information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. A store age rating describes game content and does not change the data practices described here.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the game or its data practices change. The date above identifies the latest version. For privacy questions or support, email hello@cmm.fyi.
